Rock 108 looked for a charity benefiting the local community where the passion and spirit of the Rock 108 Nation could help grow the charity and help more people in need. So this year, Rock 108 partnered with Iowa Giving Crew to support their annual Operation: Give Birds to provide Thanksgiving dinner to families struggling in the corridor, which includes the counties of Linn, Benton, Cedar, Jones, Johnson, and Washington between Iowa City and Cedar Rapids.
Iowa Giving Crew started as a result of a prank in 2018, but ended up providing Thanksgiving meals to 80 families in Cedar Rapids when they saw the need.
A donation of just $20 will provide a family with Thanksgiving dinner. NRG Media President and CEO, Mary Quass will match donations up to $1,000. You can help too, by clicking the link below before November 17. Donations are taken through Venmo or PayPal and are tax deductible. Be sure to note in your donation you heard about Operation: Give Birds on Rock 108.
According to program director Russ Mottla, the ultimate goal is, “to grow to the point every family in the corridor who wants a Thanksgiving dinner can have one.”
Thank you for your generosity and being a part of Rock 108 Nation and helping those in need in the corridor.
